Why Investigative Journalists Matter:
The world needs real investigative journalism now more than ever. Many no longer regard the mainstream media as a credible news source. A healthy society depends on holding the powerful to account, exposing injustices and wrong doing.
The power to expose mischief and skulduggery
Fake news and disinformation have polluted the industry, attributing to a culture of hardened cynicism. With this in mind, this website aims to function as a journalistic resource of sorts.
The objective is to provide a tool kit not only for aspiring investigative journalists, but also to speak directly to an audience eager to search online for truth that powerful people increasingly seek to obscure.
An Award-Winning Investigative Journalist
Peter Hounam is a former chief investigative reporter at The Sunday Times, columnist at the Daily Mirror and presenter of Channel 4’s Despatches and the BBC’s investigative journalism stalwart, Panorama. As a freelance journalist, Peter has wrote numerous books, exposing corruption and skullduggery of global significance.
“Investigative journalism is a high-risk business”
Peter is most famously known for his work on the Israeli nuclear weapons program leak, and subsequent kidnapping. He has stood up against the behemoths of power, exposing international smuggling rings and unearthing government corruption tied back to weapons of mass destruction. Peter’s forthcoming book, ‘Goliath’s Guilty Secret’ pulls together a lifetime of research, culminating into what must be the cover-up of the century.
